When an individual, business or government pays to plant a tree, it usually only covers the cost of a tree going from seed to the ground...and that's it. But who pays for the cost of new tools, updating the website or a flat tire on a truck?
Tree planting organizations can't readily get funding to cover these types of overhead costs. But they are critical! This problem leads tree planters to have to borrow equipment from friends, find a lucky donor, lose supporters because of a bad website or simply struggle without a critical need. It's inefficient and ensures missed opportunities.
Our Solution
Our solution is an endowment fund. Think of it like Mother Nature's retirement account.
Contributors (that's you) pay us, we pool the contributions together, we invest in long-term investments that we never have to sell and then give the annual income from the investments to tree planting organizations to cover overhead costs.
And since your money is permanently invested, each dollar you give will create an impact every single year, even if you only ever give once (more is better :D). It's like a fruit orchard - plant once, get fruit every year.
