Our Vision
To create an endowment that funds the operations of tree planting organizations.

Our Story
We love planting trees. Every year we volunteer with different tree planting organizations to help them with their planting projects either by digging holes and putting trees in the ground or by coaching other volunteers.
Back in 2022, we were volunteering planting trees and it happened to be raining. We were offloading trucks bringing in trees to the project site but then had to wait in the rain for the few ATV drivers to haul trees to the planting area because there weren't enough ATV's.
It was slow, miserable and unproductive.
When we asked why it was going so slowly we were told because the organization did not have enough equipment to move the trees to the planting site fast enough. In fact, the equipment they did have was borrowed from friends and family. Friends and family? This wasn't a new operation. This organization had been operating for over 30 years planting trees in Canada.

How was this possible?

We soon discovered that donors typically don't cover overhead and operating costs for tree planters. When donors pay money, they want a tree to go in the ground. But if there is no or limited funding for operating costs, how exactly are these organizations supposed to do the environmental restoration work that was needed? This was clearly a problem.

Given our business and finance background we thought a business and finance solution might be the right answer to create a permanent solution for this problem.
The Earth Endowment Fund was born.
Who Are We
We are a group of people who spent our careers in business but love nature. Tired of working for corporations that care only about the bottom line to enrich owners at the expense of employees and the environment, finally we said 'enough'.

Now we are using our skills to do something we care about. Earth is the only home we have. The environment needs to be cared for and protected, forever. We think an endowment fund is a permanent funding solution to a problem no one seems to have been able to solve.
